I just got back from a week in Hawaii augmenting a Navy Public Affairs Support Element (NPASE). The National Park Service is working with a bunch of private companies to create digital 3d models of the Valor in the Pacific WWII National Monuments. The NPASE MCs were creating products about all the technologies the park service and their partners were using. I did this little piece that focuses on one technology being used underwater: photogrammetry. Shaan Hurley, a technologist with Autodesk, takes photos underwater. He inputs those photos into a software package to create 3D models.
